Now is your chance to join our talented team that delivers unparalleled creative content to audiences around the world.

The focus of this role is part of the Disney Experiences (DX) Strategic Sourcing team with a focus on supporting stakeholders in the Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Ride, Show, and Entertainment Studios. The Sourcing Specialist will execute sourcing decisions in selecting service providers to maximize the value of multi-million dollar annual spend, and to mitigate risks through smart contract negotiations. This includes supporting key Category and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), writing and executing contracts/change orders, leading Requests for Proposals (RFPs)/bidding processes, negotiating deals including master agreements, pre-qualifying and managing suppliers, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance, facilitating process improvements and bringing stakeholders together for collaboration to leverage opportunities.

The Sourcing Specialist will be a part of a team responsible for the Sourcing & Procurement activities related to ride, show, and entertainment systems and related elements (ride controls, etc.) with a focus on client, category, and supplier management.  We partner with multiple WDI Project Teams in strategy development, competitive bidding, supplier pre-qualification/selection, contract negotiation, contract administration and ongoing SRM.  The Sourcing Specialist will report to the Category Sourcing Manager and/or Strategic Sourcing Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pre-qualify vendors for consideration: financial status/stability, past performance, technical capabilities, certifications, diversity, etc.

  • Prepare and execute clear, structured negotiation strategies utilizing Strategic Sourcing methodology.

  • Prepare and execute contracts as well as perform post-award administration through contract completion and close-out.

  • Understand and assist in the development and execution of performance management programs with suppliers that focus on quality, responsiveness, schedule and cost.

  • Ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing policies and best practices.

  • Responsible for internal stakeholder engagement (leadership, PM, legal, risk management, diversity & inclusion) to drive key decision making and consensus associated with project delivery strategies, contract awards or other key matters critical to the line of business.

  • Mentor/train/develop interns or newer cast in sourcing processes/procedures.

  • Industry research, reporting and tracking to better understand current and future market trends (i.e. material/labor costs, supply chain constraints, escalation, future industry challenges/shortages/direction, etc.).

Basic Qualifications:

  • An ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years working in a sourcing, procurement/contract administration, and/or category management role and/or have relevant work experience in the fields of design/engineering, fabrication/production and/or legal.

  • Experience in drafting and executing design, fabrication/production, service, and professional consulting contracts as well as associated change orders.

  • Experience facilitating and leading an RFP or Invitation to Bid (ITB) from start to finish (inquiry to contract award/execution), with all associated contract management support through close-out. Includes contracts for design/engineering, professional/consulting services, fabrication/production, and construction.

  • Demonstrated ability to advise, identify and mitigate potential risk throughout the ITB process, which includes, but is not limited to bidder list pre-qualification/creation, sourcing/contract strategy input & development, and compilation of a complete ITB/RFP (includes scope of work/services, schedule, drawings, specs, etc.).

  • Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) to analyze data, prepare bid summaries and award recommendations, and prepare, issue and execute contracts, with summary presentations as/if needed.

  • Written and verbal communication is consistently clear, concise, and relevant to the audience.

  • Ability to adapt communications to a variety of leadership and can effectively assist with training and guidance of clients on processes and procedures.

  • Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with team members (peers), clients/internal stakeholders and third-party vendors.

  • Effectively lead/manage meetings with varied internal and external attendance (pre-bid, site walks, project meetings, post-bid conversations, and strategy discussions).
