Job Description

Ensure applications meet GM IT standards for functional, system, quality, security, performance and architecture requirements. Drive advanced levels of test planning, execution and quality reporting of software applications through project engagements and sustain software test activities. Create manual and automated test cases and test execution plans. Organize and execute test activities to ensure applications meet GM IT standards for quality, security, performance and architecture requirements. Perform ambiguity reviews of business and software requirements, execute tests, log defects, and report test metrics and test status to the project teams. Work closely with management, architects, business analysts, developers and project managers to assist teams through task management for the successful and on time delivery of projects with the highest quality as possible. Assist in maintaining optimal resource utilization across a functional area; call out constraints and available bandwidth when appropriate. Speak to the technology stack(s) in their functional space. Manage work across multiple projects. Lead coordination of all testing activities on a project. Analyze, test, and certify application-specific software and perform ambiguity reviews of business requirements and functional specification documents. Log, track, and verify resolution of requirements and software defects. Mentor junior testers through project-related conflict resolution. Serve as a mentor to less experienced staff. Initiate changes across the team and organization in an effort to improve processes and standards. Hold themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors. Model GM behaviors and build a winning culture. Perform other related duties as assigned. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address.   

Additional Job Description

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related degree, and five (5) years of experience in job offered or related test data management position.  Experience must include: multiple software development methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile; different test types needed for a project based on a review of the business and software requirements; test case management using HP ALM or Microsoft TFS (or equivalent test management tool); compiling, analyzing, and communicating software test metrics and reporting; driving project teams through software quality engagements; driving closure on ambiguities found from reviewing business and software requirements.
