Job Description

    Human Resources Business Partner

    ***This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Oshawa Elevation Centre, three times per week, at minimum.***

    As an HR Business Partner, you will be part of GM's Canada Human Resources team, where you will perform day-to-day HR business activities and partner with assigned functions on initiatives that align with GM’s objectives, mission and culture. You will work with assigned business function's HR team, HR Communities of Expertise, and other stakeholders to build engagement, increase output, and attract and retain talent. This role also provides foundational support to business functions in the areas of reporting, employee relations, employee engagement, and ad hoc projects as necessary. To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and translate them into the highest impact work.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure data integrity in HRIS (Workday) systems and daily maintenance of HRIS systems.

    • Be able to identify trends and create action items as well as partner with Operations and HR Business Partners to drive implementation and impact.

    • Produce and analyze reports to identify trends including being able to find ways to measure effectiveness of initiatives and programs developed by the team.

    • Auditing to ensure our data is accurate.

    • Ensure depth of understanding of organizations supported, including key functions and processes.

    • Partner to drive diversity initiatives with consideration for talent movement, dashboards, recruiting and representation as well as targeted development initiatives.

    • Partner with the HR Business Partners to appropriately address concerns, helping to ensure we drive to the right resolution.

    • Promote positive employee relations through identifying trends, evaluating data and anecdotes, and leveraging employee feedback through engagement mechanisms.

    • Support employees and managers with routine, day-to-day HR questions, needs, and inquiries, providing world-class service and ensuring you guide our teams to the right resources to ensure a quality and timely solution.

    • Facilitate exit interviews within assigned business unit and analyzes the data to make recommendations for improvement to the business.

    • Partnering with the onboarding team to ensure new team members in their assigned business unit are prepared for Day 1.

    • Facilitates internal interviewing process within assigned business unit, in partnership with the business managers, to ensure a structured process is executed for all lead, supervisor, and premium paid positions.

    • Assists with coordinating/conducting employee roundtables proactively to identify areas that can be improved – report out to HRM.

    • Partner with assigned field representatives to complete the HR functional work for identified business function.

    • Work with assigned business function’s leaders, provide direction on restructures, specific transformation efforts, job design, workforce/organizational planning.

    • Ensure that HR provides extraordinary HR service delivery, drives consistency and standard methodology deliverables.Communicate and educate our function leaders and our employees on significant, relevant changes in HR policies and programs.

    Additional Job Description

    Qualifications

    • Post Secondary Education required.

    • 4+ years of related HR experience

    • Highly proficient use of HR Systems and computer software application skills (i.e. Workday, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).

    • Project Management Experience.

    • Experience collaborating with COE and business stakeholders.

    • Experience with Workforce Planning, Talent Planning and development & Data Analytics.

    • Strong interpersonal skills in facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.

    • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and work to plan.

    • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and Project Management experience.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    **This position will require to attend to GM facilities in Ontario from time to time for which planning and advance notice will be provided. **
