Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated candidate to join our team in our journey of defining and executing the backbone of our company's future—the next generation Vehicle Electrical Architecture. The Mechatronics Infrastructure Value Stream is looking for an ART Manager that will lead the development, execution, and release of CAN artifacts utilized by all GM’s platforms.  As an ART Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coaching the team in developing the most efficient and optimal CAN artifacts by aligning strategies, stakeholders, designs, and delivering a product that exceeds our customers' expectations.

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Center Podium at least three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning, visualize and manage the flow of features and capabilities from ideation to analysis, implementation, and final release.
  • Outline business and technical goals and the relationship to program objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate large and complex development projects, facilitate synchronization events (i.e. meetings and processes), and coordinate between multi-functional development teams.
  • Help manage risk and dependencies between teams, escalate and track impediments, and provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
  • Represent the development teams in front of senior leadership to provide status update, acquire feedback, or approval.
  • Guide the organization to continuously improve by analyzing data.
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Initiate strategic efforts to enhance product development workflow and process.
  • Collaborate with other members of the quad-- cooperating with Project Management, Product Management, and Engineering
  • Quantify, maintain, and communicate ART capacity & capacity utilization.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related experience.
  • Five or more years of industry experience planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and drive for results.
  • Skilled at resolving interpersonal conflicts and overall helping people communicating effectively.
  • Comfortable with data analysis, and recommending solutions or improvements based on data.
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity, embrace changes, and challenges.
  • Experience with cross-functional leadership across product and program teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to ideate, formulate, and execute winning strategies and innovations.
  • Evidence of data-based decision making.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related experience.
  • Engineering and Embedded Software Systems, with a focus on in-vehicle networking and CAN systems.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
  • Ten or more years of industry experience.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Design for Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Demonstrated direct and/or indirect leadership experience.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $93,400 - $149,200 Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
