Salary: $106491.24 - $109945.46

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the PECC and SAS. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will play a vital role in leading education and training programs for nursing staff. This may include developing and delivering educational programs on mental health topics, creating trailered educational plans, as well as providing mentorship and guidance to nursing staff in the delivery of mental health care.

PECC is a 24/7, 6 bedded ward, where crisis interventions are delivered for a period of up to 48 hours. Consumers admitted to PECC are often in acute crisis, requiring a safe space to regulate and time to link in with other services. This is done in collaboration with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) the consumer and their family members.

SAS is a 6 bay area, where those presenting to ED with mental health issues and complaints can receive support from specialized nurses. Consumers may also engage in a mental health assessment to determine best treatments and supports, either within the community or as an inpatient.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
3. Relevant clinical or education post-graduate qualifications and at least 12 months experience working in the relevant clinical area related to their qualifications, or four years post-registration experience including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field
4. Demonstrated knowledge of innovative educational strategies, tools and approaches including e-learning
5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team and demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
6. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
7. Certificate IV in workplace training and education or willingness to undertake within the first 12 months of employment

8. Delivery of Clinical Nurse Education in the unit and provide educational programs based on needs analysis
