Job Description

Hybrid Role- This role does not require an employee to be on-site full-time, but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite an average of three (3) days each week to Oshawa (OEC) or Markham (MEC) office.

We are looking for a Business Insights & Analytics Manager to help manage OnStar Canada’s Business Performance through reporting, data analysis, and tactical consulting. As part of the Business Operations & Performance team, you’ll play a key role in shaping OnStar’s multi-year strategy, developing and leading strategic & innovative initiatives, providing meaningful data-driven insights, and thought leadership for the OnStar Canada Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the team by maintaining a strong understanding of OnStar Canada performance, leveraging data to answer business questions, solve business challenges, identify trends, opportunities, solutions, and actions to drive subscription volume and address enterprise needs

  • Generate comprehensive fact-based insights to support thorough business decision making

  • Responsible for the development and support of the delivery of the OnStar & SXM Monthly Operating Review (MOR) and Analysis

  • Become the data Subject Matter Expert (SME) for OnStar Canada

  • Provide a regular cadence of necessary performance reports and scorecards in support of the OnStar Dealer Field Team

  • Maintain expert knowledge of main data sources for the OnStar business unit and effectively utilize these sources for reporting purposes (i.e., PowerBI, Cognos, etc.)

  • Produce and prepare specialized reporting packages, dashboards and scorecards for business and leadership presentations, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience

  • Develop data strategy and models to report periodic performance insights on new and emerging business opportunities

  • Work cross-functionally with various Canadian and US stakeholders to understand the current state of the business and provide data insights and analysis on ad-hoc initiatives and business focus areas, including new business opportunities, executive dealer engagements, business deep dives, and strategy development exercises

  • Participate on special projects as required

  • Compliance with all processes and training required by GM Canada

Required Skills

  • An analytical, systematic thinker, with excellent data skills, a creative problem solver, and the ability to synthesize and communicate findings to senior executives

  • Ability to tailor and present the message and delivery based on the intended audience

  • Ability to work effectively with others, building effective relationships with key team members

  • Excellent analytical, communication, prioritization, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-pace, high-pressure environment with a reliable, self-motivating, and self-disciplining manner

  • Demonstrates superior computer skills, including MS Excel, Word &PowerPoint

  • Practical experience using PowerBI

Education & Experience:

  • The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Math, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of Canadian automotive dealership operations and dealer contact experience considered an asset

  • Bilingual (English & French) considered an asset
