The Role 

As the Maintenance Planner for Body Shop, you will continually improve planning, scheduling, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency. This individual is responsible for all preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions, recommending solutions to problems, and meeting schedule and quality requirements in addition to other responsibilities that revolve around maintenance and repair within the body shop. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing System (GMS), focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) 

  • Generate and review Maximo reports on a regular basis to ensure PCP (Process Control Plan), TEB (Tool & Equipment Bulletins) and WSS (Workplace Safety System) compliance

  • Develop and maintain Maximo standards for Plant Start Centers & work order processes

  • Monitor KPI performance             

  • Execute updates to the Maximo library during equipment changes

  • Set up new equipment in Maximo                                                         

  • Manage internal and external spare part ordering as required

  • Provide coaching to team members on use of Maximo

  • Maintain safety and technical training records for the department and schedule team members as required

  • Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment in supporting core business plan priorities of SPQRCE (Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, Environment)

  • Has knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles

  • Support plant-wide initiatives/councils as required

  • Represent Oshawa in Maximo meetings

  • Upkeep and review Maximo database for compliance                    

  • Support Maintenance, Engineering and Production as required to ensure safety, quality and technical inspection requirements are met    

  • Oversee Preventative Maintenance distribution and scheduling                                 

  • Generate training documentation as required

  • Support team with Problem Solving

  • Maintain technical documentation storage libraries for the department

  • Support floor coverage as required

  • Participate in Maintenance Meetings                        

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) 

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience 

  • Minimum of 2 years of related maintenance experience within the manufacturing environment

 

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)  

  • Maintenance experience within automotive manufacturing

  • Experience/knowledge of GM-Global Manufacturing System (GMS)

  • Highly developed knowledge of integration plant floor monitoring systems (PMC/ PRT (Production Monitoring Control) / Web Throughput Improvement Process) &/or simulation techniques

  • Thorough knowledge of plant safety rules (i.e., Lockout / PTP (Pre Task Plan)/ SOPs)

  • Detailed understanding of planned and predictive maintenance and the Maximo system
