Process engineering responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Define roadmaps to meet requirements, goals and milestones for a new technology process.
  • Defines and establishes flow, procedures, and equipment configuration for the module.
  • Selects and develops equipment for the process metrology to meet quality, yield, reliability, cost, productivity and manufacturability requirements.
  • Designs and conducts experiments to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle. Drives improvements on inline metrology validation, quality, yield, reliability, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel.
  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools.
  • Develops strategy to resolve difficult problems and establishes systems to deal with these problems in the future.
  • Transfers process to high volume manufacturing and provide support in new factory start-up as well as install and qualification of the new production lines.

Full time onsite required during training, estimated 6 months. After training: hybrid "work from home" to be defined by manager and employee but continued onsite will be required.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must possess at least one of the following 3 degrees; plus, the years of experience required for each degree in the areas specified below:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field of study with 3+ years of experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related field of study with 2+ years of experience.
  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics , or a related field of study.
  • Has a strong materials and optics background and be familiar with Metrology Equipment and Recipe development on one of the following techniques for thin film/OCD characterization- Ellipsometry, Scatterometry, Interferometry, Spectroscopy, Profilometry Thin Films, CD-SEM, AFM, XRD, FTIR etc.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the semiconductor environment preferably in process analytical metrology. Experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, military training or work experience.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experimental design and the skills to apply that knowledge to tool matching, tool qualification, and process development.
  • Recipe development using RCWA models and/or machine learning is a plus but not required.
  • Have a good understanding of semiconductor process flows (logic or memory is preferred) and metrology assessment based on process requirements.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
