Job Description: 

The Embedded Multi-die Interconnect Bridge Team (EMIB) is looking for an experienced Yield Analysis / Defect Reduction engineer to join our EMIB TD team

This role includes the following but not limited to:

  • Working closely with process integration and module teams to monitor baseline defect performance for various phases of development (from pathfinding to more mature development nodes prior to transfer to high volume manufacturing (HVM).
  • Extracting, analyzing, and summarizing correlations for defects vs inline signals (tool/process).
  • Owning determining the actions required by the factory to deliver Best in Class yield levels.
  • Ensuring changes to process targets are neutral or beneficial to yields.
  • Partnering with the Technology Development team to develop and qualify process improvements and design creative solutions to detect inline marginalities using inline defect monitoring setups (Darkfield, macro, brightfield, API, ebeam etc where applicable).
  • Preparing detailed, clear and timely reports summarizing the defect performance to monitor health for products.
  • Correlate inline defect process change impacts to etest/device/sort
  • Lead/Participate in Continuous Improvement activities that range from yield enhancement, cost reduction, and productivity / output improvement.
  • Developing strong partnerships with diverse groups such as Process Engineering, Integration, QNR, and Product Development Engineering.
  • Developing solutions to problems using process knowledge, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving skills.

This position is located onsite in Rio Rancho, NM. You must work a minimum of six months onsite before you work hybrid.

Relocation assistance will be provided.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must possess at least one of the following 3 degrees; plus, the years of experience required for each degree in the areas specified below:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Microelectronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related field of study with 4+ years of experience.
  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Microelectronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field of study with 3+ years of experience.
  • PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Microelectronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a related field of study with 2+ years of experience
  • Strong technical depth and demonstrated fab interconnect and/or BEOL development process knowledge
  • Experience in Defect reduction.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated track record of process development.

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
