Job Description

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren - 7000 Building three times per week, at minimum.

This job is not eligible for relocation benefits.  Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Senior Software Product Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and driving product initiatives across the software organization. Key tasks include collaborating with business and technical partners to build and deliver the product roadmap and digital experience that empower GM Energy customers to manage and maximize the value of their energy assets.  This position will lead a team to create a world class software experience (HEMS, home energy management system  and Utilities enrollment/grid services) that is easy to use, optimized for value, and modifies customer behavior while increasing EV affordability, revenue generation and driving hardware sales.

This position requires someone who is a self-starter, fast learner and always thinks customer first.  A progressive track record with a proven ability to lead change, collaborate and influence across all functions, effectively prioritize and thrive in an ambiguous / fast-paced environment is a must. 

Additionally, this position needs to effectively communicate and build deep understanding of program value and impact across the enterprise to ensure buy-in and support of programs and initiatives into regular strategic priorities and innovation.

This position reports to the Head of Software Products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product managers in enabling them to drive the product strategy and roadmaps adhering to the Objectives and Key results
  • Communicate complex subjects in a simple and straightforward way, and is a skilled problem solver that utilizes data and experience to identify problems and solutions
  • Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on customer needs and market trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure product goals and priorities alignment.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and potential threats.
  • Develop and manage product requirements, including user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Create and maintain product backlogs and prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to develop intuitive and compelling user interfaces.
  • Define and track key metrics using OKRs and KPIs to measure product success and inform future decisions.
  • Communicate product updates, progress, and plans to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, customers, and partners.
  • Manage product launches, including developing go-to-market strategies and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Conduct post-launch analysis to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Continuously iterate and improve the product based on user feedback, market trends, and business goals.
  • Communicate changes of scope and delivery items to impacted teams and delivery of core products to be used across multiple LOBs seamlessly.
  • Ensure a customer-centered approach to strategy design and execution to ensure to ensure product experiences are innovative, simple, and brand-forward
  • Manage dependencies /Integrations with other digital functions: eCommerce, Salesforce, Marketing, Logistics/Fulfillment

Qualifications

  • 8+ Years Product Management Experience
  • Unique combination of being business-minded and highly analytical
  • Experience working with technical & functional resources and following an Agile based delivery methodology
  • Deep understanding of competitive landscape and understanding of how the EV and  Energy Technology industries are converging
  • The strategic ability to connect business processes and cross team collabarion with the Mobile App  and SDV team
  • Interface and partner with C-level Executives and Senior Management
  • Ability to understand the business, business needs and identify areas that can be optimized
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, make decisions and build trust across the organization
  • Ability to guide team on multiple tasks and deliver results with aggressive timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to grasp concepts quickly

Required Skills / Experience / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business, product, software engineer or technical field required
  • Embrace data driven & customer insights to inform plans, launches, and iterations
  • Strong organizational skills with proven track record of efficiently executing complex projects to completion at a high level of quality
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations
  • Desire to work in a complex and evolving environment and to bring an innovation mindset. Comfort working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment is essential.
  • Highly proficient in oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong computer software skills, especially Microsoft Office, including familiarity with MS Project, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
