Job Description

Work Arrangement​​ - Onsite

The Role As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for support in one of the key areas: manufacturing/warehouse operations, supply chain systems and processes, launch execution and scheduling and material management. You will act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide support. .

What You’ll Do
Executes deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives. Guides of one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives.

Position communicates to all levels of the organization, within the function as well as other functions and suppliers Position is responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers

- Ability to understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues minimizing impacts to vehicle production

- Assess supplier schedules and impact on vehicle assembly production.

- Collaborate cross functionally to develop creative solutions.

- Ability to summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership

- Handle very complex capacity constraint issues to resolution with goal to eliminate potential plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation.

- Analyze metrics supporting supplier critical issues or sufficiency plan resolution.

- Ability to be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution.

- Ability to travel to plant locations when required for onsite support of launch and build-out.

- Ability to problem tackle complete issues and implement new and innovative strategies.

- Deep understanding of Supply Chain functions

-Responsible for ensuring that all data / information for a flawless material flow system are available and accurate.  Must support the GM Business Plan process and achieve scorecard targets set for the department.  Will need to ensure internal control compliance for the specific job function.

  • Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​
  • Interfaces with suppliers, parts warehouse, Lead logistics provider, engineers and plant floor personnel to resolve material issues
  • Organizes and leads meeting to review all Temporary Work Orders for the plant
  • Has buy-off responsibility for all plant Temporary Work Orders
  • Tracks and records VIN information for all implemented Temporary Work Orders
  • Participates in the Plan For Every Part process managing specific Material Flow tasks
  • Analyzes productive part receiving records
  • Has a fundamental understanding and can navigate through the GM MRP system (MGO)
  • Work with all levels of personnel in resolving issues, tracking material availability, and advising on material usage
  • Regular contact with others outside the work group
  • Utilizes Engineering systems for Work Order inquiry information (E-Squared)
  • Utilizes all Microsoft Office programs (Strong Excel skills)
  • Resolves other supplier non-conformances
  • Maintains ISO standards
  • Qualifications
  • Analytical ability where problems are somewhat complex
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Team player with ability to work effectively in all environments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish effective work priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university with an emphasis on Supply Chain Management studies or equivalent
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Good communication skills
