Job Description

This is a Hybrid role: This position requires to work 3 days on site 2 days at home remote on a full-time basis

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • All Sourcing and Contracting Activities that including sourcing event bid strategy & management, bid analytics, coordination and alignment of RFQ package components including Terms & Conditions, SOR, RFQ documentation, lead technical reviews with the bidders, leadership sourcing recommendation / alignment, and management of sourcing documentation related to bid events in adherence to the GM Audit Services
  • Daily supplier interface activities on all commercial items
  • Drive commercial budget activities. Strong focus in cost reduction initiatives
  • Review weekly variance report to identify change in the commodity spent
  • Support supply chain activities & disruptions to find alternative solutions, manage supplier capacity increase and conduct the related negotiations and contracts creation
  • Manage and support, suppliers performance scorecard, as well as actively participate in supplier performance reviews
  • Maintain Business Overtime Strategy for all applicable suppliers
  • Nurture relationship with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution
  • Perform rate management activities including benchmarking, rate analysis, and read-across opportunities.
  • Participate in Engineering Change Team (ECT) meetings.
  • Participate in Product Development Team (PDT) meetings.
  • Lead BTAB process when they are required to support the modifications in the footprint of the supplier.
  • Support supplier relocation activities
  • Support & engage in supply chain, resiliency activities
  • Update sourcing pipeline to track every incoming sourcing and provide visibility and planning over upcoming negotiations
  • Generate strategies for any incoming sourcing working with engineering, purchasing leadership and program teams.

Additional Job Description

Required Critical Skills:

  • Understanding of the Product Development process for vehicles and propulsion systems
  • SAP (Tooling) knowledge.
  • Understanding of the manufacture process for rubber, steel & aluminum parts
  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships.
  • Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance.
  • Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills
  • High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex
  • Experience with supply chain and logistics challenges
  • Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins)
  • Clear understanding of the material indexation process
  • Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience

Preferred Critical Skills:

•      Automotive industry experience

•      Knowledge of procurement software

•      Knowledge of materials management

•      Capable of interpreting market data

•      Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes

  • Knowledge of FX indexation processes

•      Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed

•      Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents

•      Ability to travel at least 5% of time, including international travel

  • Knowledge of Stainless steel / aluminum alloys
  • Advanced English
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office software
  • Power BI – Highly desirable

Educational Qualifications:

•      Degree in Procurement, Accounting, Business, Engineering

•      Master Degree desired
