Job Description: 

Develops software libraries of mathematical algorithms highly optimized for underlying hardware architectures. Designs, develops, optimizes, debugs, tests, and/or maintains complex software for mathematical, scientific, engineering, digital signal processing and/or artificial intelligence applications, as well as related system software, software development tools, test tools, applications, drivers, and user interfaces. May work directly with hardware design teams to influence architectures and companies/communities developing mathematical, scientific, and engineering applications or supporting software tools.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience or PhD. in Computer Science/Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Information Technology, or related disciplines.

2+ years of experience in the following technical areas:

  • Numerical analysis or scientific software designs with an emphasis in dense and sparse linear algebra

  • Extensive coding in C++, C or Fortran languages

  • Parallel Programming using OpenMP, TBB or MPI

  • Linux or Windows OS development


Preferred Qualifications: Some experience with:

  • Architecture-specific code optimizations to achieve high performance on CPU and/or GPUs.

  • Heterogenous compute targeting GPUs for high performance.

  • Active use of debuggers and performance analysis tools.
