Job Description:

Position Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

Hours per week: 38 hours per week

Position Grade: Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (Year 1 to 2)

Salary: $109,945.46 - $113,556.22 base per annum

Enterprise Agreement: Named NSW (non declared) Affiliated Health Organisations' Nurses Agreement 2017

About the role:

A vacancy exists in the Gorman Unit, for a highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist 2. The successful candidate will take an extended leadership role in the coordination of Alcohol and other Drug Service nursing and health care within and across different care contexts to facilitate optimal health outcomes. This includes appropriate referral to, and consultation with, other relevant health professionals, service providers, and community and support services during intake and the patient's inpatient stay. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to provide evidence-based nursing care to people of all ages and cultural groups, including individuals, families and communities within an inpatient alcohol and other drug treatment service.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team so as to achieve goals and health outcomes.  The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 practices independently and interdependently with an extended scope of practice, autonomy and decision making, assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions and delegation of care to registered nurses, enrolled nurses and health care workers. This role is an with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. About you:  
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 who possess a passion for person centred care with experience in Alcohol and other drug service.

Selection Criteria

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.

3. Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least three years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.

4. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team at a senior level.

5. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Demonstrated effective computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system.

7. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse.

8. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
