We are actively sourcing an experienced National Director of Healthcare Platforms to join our D&T Team in St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA) to lead and influence St Vincent’s Healthcare platform strategy that drives modernization, operational excellence, and improved patient care delivery for our organisation.
Reporting to the Group Chief Digital Officer and working closely with the Group Chief Medical Officer, you will use your creativity and expertise to transform our approach to technology management by introducing product management principles and agile methodologies. This position will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our technology platforms, products, applications, and interfaces.
Seeking an enthusiastic leader with strong data & analytics experience within a healthcare IT setting. You will have exceptional project-management, problem solving, and stakeholder management skills to share and further refine within our organisation.
Key responsibilities of the role:
Provide strategic direction and leadership for the D&T healthcare and corporate application portfolio, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives
Work collaboratively with the business stakeholders and architects to ensure all application development and modernization efforts adhere to standards and guidelines.
Lead the data and analytics roadmap, governance and capability uplift across SVHA including business access to tools, processes and ways of working to realise the value of EMR investments, and emerging technologies including AI & the internet of things (IOT).
Ensure that applications meet user requirements, and that changes and enhancements present minimal disruption to clinical and business operations.
Introduce and implement product management best practices across St Vincent’s.
Lead the adoption of agile methodologies across application development teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and iterative delivery.
Oversee the delivery of application projects
Ensure robust cybersecurity standards and compliance with relevant industry regulations
Lead and motivate a team of application, integration and data specialists, developers, and support staff, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
Cultivate strong relationships with strategic partners and stakeholders
Things that work for us:
Significant experience in a healthcare IT setting, with a proven track record of success in managing application portfolios, including Tier 1 Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Established data & analytics leadership experience, including data governance and AI In-depth understanding of product management principles and methodologies.
Experience leading and implementing agile development frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).
Strong project management skills with a focus on project delivery and execution.
Experience with healthcare information security and compliance.
Established track-record in identifying, establishing & leading external partnerships with proven value realisation for both parties.
Commercial awareness and proven experience with vendor management best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
