Job Description:

We are actively sourcing an experienced Chief Technology Officer to join our D&T Team in St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA) to lead and drive technological transformation of our national healthcare service organisation, encompassing both hospitals and aged care facilities.

Reporting to the Group Chief Digital Officer, you will use your creativity and expertise to develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap that drives modernization, operational excellence, and improved patient and resident care delivery.

Seeking an enthusiastic leader with strong technology service delivery experience within a healthcare IT setting.  You will have exceptional project-management, continuous improvement, and stakeholder management skills to share and further refine within our organisation.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead delivery of the organisation's technology roadmap and investment plan in alignment with St Vincents Strategy 2030, focusing on enhancing service excellence & delivering connected care.  

  • Champion the adoption of best practice methodologies, with a focus on ITIL transition for customer-centric service management and delivery

  • Lead major incident best practice preparedness and response in partnership with the business and external stakeholders. 

  • Lead an infrastructure modernisation program, including vendor management and integrated service delivery 

  • Lead a technology rationalization initiative aimed at standardization and simplification of the IT landscape

  • Co-lead the D&T customer experience, including front-end and integrated service delivery across D&T, decentralised IT and outsourced IT functions.

  • Lead end-to-end incident and problem management, including responsibility for Major Incident Response and associated policies, procedures, and continuous improvement.

  • Own the entire lifecycle of core IT infrastructure, encompassing networks, infrastructure, telephony, and end-user computing.

  • Manage and deliver IT business cases and projects effectively

  • Lead the setting, delivery and improvement of D&T Service Level Agreements

  • Participate in accreditation and risk management activities

  • Lead a team of senior direct reports and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

Things that work for us:

  • Significant experience in a healthcare IT or analogous sectors, with a proven and successful track record in managing technology service delivery, incident management, technology infrastructure and continuous improvement. 

  • Experience in leading transitions from legacy to ITIL ways of working 

  • In-depth understanding of product management principles and methodologies. 

  • Experience leading and implementing agile development frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban). 

  • Strong project management skills with a focus on project delivery and execution. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across all levels of the organization. 

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and inspire a team. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Commercial awareness and track record of vendor management best practices. 

  • Experience with healthcare information security and compliance will be highly regarded

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Clinical Healthcare or a related field (Master's degree a plus).

  • Current 2024 Flu Vaccine (or willingness to receive) and a minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations – mandatory
