Collins Aerospace is seeking a Customer Quality Program Manager to support our Business & Regional Avionics business. The Quality Program Manager acts as the primary customer point of contact for quality focused on improving satisfaction through quality improvement initiatives.  The quality program manager serves as the customer’s voice throughout the organization and leads a cross functional team to resolve known issues and drive preventative actions to reduce quality escapes. 

This position will be in a multi-disciplinary team environment and will need to be able to thrive on tackling challenges, as the position requires the use of problem-solving skills in a hands-on work environment to address problems and implement appropriate design or process changes. There will be heavy customer interaction in this role to meet the needs and expectations of the customer.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Leads a cross functional team including members from product quality, supply chain quality, manufacturing engineering, operations, design, and customer support. 
  • Develops and leads implementation of solutions to nonconformities and to satisfy quality issues raised by customers. 
  • Directs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, develops recommendations for corrective action for design problems for internally produced products & processes. 
  • Working with product design and specification, devises testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure a high level of product quality.   
  • Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for design problems for internally produced products & processes. 
  • Leads customer audits/assessments when requested. 
  • Identifies and manages risk in product development primarily utilizing and driving PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.).  
  • Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation.  
  • Review process control documentation to ensure compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts. 

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • 3+ years of Quality Assurance in production / manufacturing
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Ability to effectively lead a cross functional team to drive quality improvement initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Management System(s) and Root Cause Analysis tools.
  • Typically requires a University degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Aerospace industry
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal) must be able to summarize complicated technical topics quickly and concisely.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
