General Information

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Transactional Tax Professional for its Saint-Laurent, Canada location. You will be a vital member of the finance team within the Front Office - Common Shared Services (CSS). 

In your role, you will be reporting to the CSS Front Office Manager and ensuring continuous process improvement via understanding of activities in accounting and reporting processes to offer cost-efficient and competitive services to the business.

Responsibilities:

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensuring proper tax coding and recording
  • Compliance for Tax declaration, Indirect Tax (GST/QST/HST)
  • Other Tax related analysis and bookings
  • Participate to Internal Controls/Audits related to Transactional Tax
  • Recording and validation of journal entries related to Indirect Tax
  • Responsible for maintaining mapping and Tax masterdata in Hitachi Energy Longview Tax (HELT)
  • Responsible for extracting reports from SAP/S4HANA and loading in HELT for Tax expense and deferred tax calculations and accounting bookings for the Canadian legal entity
  • Tax Accounts reconciliations
  • Ad Hoc tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance and Minimum of 2 years of Accounting experience.
  • Excellent work ethics, attention to details
  • Experience in a Tax department is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (French and English).
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, or in process of getting the designation
  • Large, global company experience and asset
  • SAP/S4HANA experience
