OnsiteCollins Aerospace ISR & Space Systems, Houston is searching for energetic and highly motivated candidates for its Operations Engineering Organization. This Operation Engineer I is the focal point for the execution of daily activities to deliver high quality, highly engineered development and production hardware on-time to its customers. The selected candidate will be a member of the Operations Engineering team, completing tasks ranging from requirements planning through the manufacturing and shipment of deliverables in support of NASA and DoD Programs. Candidates must exhibit a high degree of initiative and sound judgment, working independently and as a member of an Integrated Product Team. It is essential the successful candidate be capable of adapting to changing conditions and work cooperatively in a team environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain operations and test processes utilizing lean philosophies and techniques
Support manufacturing and testing of space flight hardware through development and validation of tooling concepts, author and maintenance of test procedures, definition of rig/setup and facility requirements, concept and drawing reviews, and resolution of producibility concerns
Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures
Monitor daily/weekly/monthly team WIP
Implement improvement initiatives with the function and program levels
Promote CORE (Lean) activities as a form of continuous improvement
Qualifications/ Experience Needed:
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with developing and designing manufacturing process
Working knowledge of Solumina, or similar MES software to be used in the processing of manufacturing instructions
Be familiar with industry standards
Experience with developing and designing manufacturing and test fixtures for mechanical and electrical hardware
Experience with interpreting electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
Ability to interpret engineering specifications
Manufacturing experience is a plus
Understanding of DfM concepts
Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments
Awareness of SAP, Production Planning, or Project Management software

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
