What will you do in this role?

The Financial Data Engineer will build and maintain data systems in relation to the finance systems at Oakwood. You will construct datasets that are easy to analyze and support company initiatives. In addition, you will implement methods to improve data reliability and quality.  The role will also be responsible for the following:

  • Build and operationalize complex data solutions, correct problems, and recommend data quality solutions

  • Maintenance and enhancement of financial forecasting/planning models, development and implementation of reports that support analyses by Finance leadership, and financial reporting database modeling

  • Performa analysis of complex sources to determine value and recommend data to include in analytical processes

  • Incorporate core data management competencies, including data governance, data security, and data quality

  • Collaborate within and across teams to support the development of complex data products/analytic environment

  • Perform data and system analysis, assessment, and resolution for complex defects and incidents and correct as appropriate

  • Provide feedback on work-in-progress, clarify requirements, and contribute to removing roadblocks or impediments. Look for opportunities for continuous team and process improvement.

  • Share best practices across teams to ensure alignment and consistency amongst all reporting groups

  • Perform other duties as assigned

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Homebuilding experience is a plus

  • Advanced Excel knowledge is required

  • Vena experience is a plus

  • Experience with financial models and accounting practices

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as a team environment and to carry out assignment to completion within parameters of instruction given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly

  • Expected Salary: $90,000 Annual Salary - This position is eligible for additional performance incentives in the form of quarterly bonus opportunities.
