Manager, Investor Relations - Michigan, Portage 1941 Stryker Way

Work Flexibility: Remote or Hybrid or Onsite

This position requires you to travel to one of the main Stryker Locations (Kalamazoo, MI / Mahwah, NJ / Flower Mound, TX) for important meetings (about once a month) and allows you to work from home for the rest of the time.

What You Will Do

As the Manager, Investors Relations you will be reporting to the Senior Director of Investor Relations, the Manager of Investor Relations supports the Investor Relations team in maintaining, developing, and improving relations and communications between the organization, financial analysts and institutional investors.  You will lead the development and execution of the annual corporate access plan, including the surveillance and targeting programs.  You will work to understand movements in the investor base and identify prospective investors while monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing investor interactions.  You will help to develop strategies and implement programs to keep the financial community current on company performance and industry trends.

• Responsible for maintaining strong fundamental understanding of the business, strategies, and market view of Stryker to participate in and lead investor interactions.

• Responsible for hosting investor meetings with IR leader

• Manage Senior Analyst within team, including coaching and goal setting

• Partern with internal ESG organization in delivering of key ESG goals and initiatives and represent voice of the investor for internal teams

• Lead the development and execution of investor targeting and corporate access goals

• Lead investor surveillance and targeting programs to understand movement in the investor base, identify prospective investors and monitor effectiveness of outreach – presenting finding to senior leaders and broader management.

• Work in conjunction with IR team and senior leaders to develop company’s investor story and utilize special events (analyst meeting, site visits, conferences, etc) as a platform for advancing key messages

• Responsible for developing and maintaining a robust Q&A database regarding all pertinent industry & commercial dynamics in partnership with IR leadership and commercial teams and present finding to senior leaders

• Quantitively capture key themes and leverage findings to inform senior leaders, guide quarterly commentary and track success of communication goals 

• Maintain a strong fundamental understanding of the industry and competitor strategies to inform senior leadership

• Partner with IR team to maintain and strengthen internal IR partners and IR brand

• Responds to ad hoc request and other duties as assigned

What You Need

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Marketing, Economics or related discipline

• Advanced degree preferred

• 8+ years of experience in a strategy, marketing or finance role

• Multiple years of exposure/partnership to other operational areas of business (sales, marketing, R&D, operations, etc) is preferred; customer exposure is a plus

• Strong interpersonal skills, superior intellect, and an outstanding ability to communicate using these qualities and skills.

• Strong executive presence and experience with partnering with executive leaders is preferred

• An energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player and individual contributor with an insatiable appetite to learn more.

• Strong fundamental understanding of the industry and commercial organization

• Solid understanding of financial modeling techniques used by security analysts to project a company's operating and financial performance and the resulting value for its stock is a plus

• Familiar with financial markets a plus
