What you will do

This position will be in our Global Customer Care (GCC) group within the Instruments division. The Manager, PMO, leads a dynamic group of project managers to deliver successful projects across a variety of project types, including enterprise, division, and department operational/strategic projects. In addition to focusing on people leadership, this role will ensure the team has the right tools for the right project with the right resources at the right time.

This role regularly interfaces with the GCC Leadership Team with monthly reviews and planning sessions, as well as Divisional PMO leadership on a periodic basis.

  • People leader for GCC project managers and responsible for executing the Talent Offense. Influences talent strategy in the department, including hiring and development. 

  • Regularly coaches team members and peers to elevate team performance through 1:1 meetings, performance check-in, and annual review process, as well as ad-hoc meetings.

  • Ensure the implementation and consistent execution of the GCC project management methodology, strategies, and tools/templates by the GCC project managers.

  • Ensure project managers collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and manage project scope.  Provide review and guidance as necessary to PMs on project schedule and overall management of the project.

  • Create an environment of continuous improvement across the project management tools, including project intake, status reporting, project logs (risks, actions, issues, decisions).

  • Create the annual PMO roadmap, track progress, and provide updates to stakeholders.

  • Manage project intake process to ensure alignment with GCC LT. This includes ensuring projects are aligned with GCC priorities and needed resources are available.

  • Lead monthly project review sessions with the GCC LT as well as quarterly strategic planning sessions.

  • Build and sustain effective stakeholder relationships at all levels, particularly with business partners. Develop stakeholder strategies for effective management across a broad range of expectations and requirements.

  • May lead programs or projects, as needed.    

  • Expected to lead with minimal supervision

What you will need

  • Bachelor's degree Required

  • 8+ years of work experience is required

  • 2+ years of people leadership preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in a PMO – as a project manager or leader preferred

  • Experience managing increasingly complex projects across multiple functions

  • Project management certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) highly preferred
