Stryker is seeking to hire a Senior Product Engineer, R&D to support Stryker’s Spine and Enabling Technologies division. This role is hybrid, 4 days per week on-site, and located in Kalamazoo, MI.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a Senior Product Engineer you will provide engineering and technical support for the manufacturing line of the Stryker AIRO Mobile CT System with a focus on production line stability and continuity. Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, you will interface cross-functionally to assist in the sustainment of the AIRO design and manufacturing line. You will be responsible for maintaining specifications & BOM’s, manufacturing line support, implementing new designs and design improvements, facilitating design changes, hands-on troubleshooting & maintenance of manufacturing line fixtures, manufacturing process changes and process improvements.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintain specifications of components for product assemblies and subassemblies according to company and industry standards.
- Work closely with Engineering and Operations to ensure all manufacturing documentation required for system assembly and test meets the needs of our end users.
- Provide close collaboration with the various Engineering discipline leads (hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, image quality) to develop and share an in-depth understanding of each subsystem and how it interacts with the others.
- Will support the creation and/or change of product requirements, specifications, test procedures and work instructions.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities/projects and assist in any additional team/organizational projects.
- Participate in the development and implementation of corrective actions, NC’s and CAPA.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) on the design team to facilitate creation of part & material specifications, Bill of Materials and detailed prints when necessary.
- Work in cross functional teams to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, serviceability and design for manufacturing meet corporate and industry standards.
- Gain understanding ECR/ECO/ECN work to facilitate changes needed for test and/or manufacturing.
- Assist activities of Manufacturing Engineers and Assembly Technicians on manufacturing floor.
- Participate in Sustaining Engineering meetings and projects.
- Participate in GQO Operations Tier escalation meetings and act as liaison between Operations Team and Product Engineering
- Carry out other duties or priorities that may be assigned by the Product Engineering team lead or your direct manager.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Required:
- BS in Engineering Field, preferably Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- 2+ years experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or as an engineering technician.
Preferred:
- Internship experience in medical device manufacturing or other regulated industry.
- Experience shadowing or authoring a design change.
- Experience with PLM system such as Arena or OnePLM.
- Experience in assembly manufacturing methods
- Experience with Lean methodologies.
