What you will do -

  • Perform failure analysis testing and measurement activities on devices and components to determine root cause of reported malfunctions from customer complaints, customer returned devices and components, production, and new product.
  • Collaborate with team members to conduct and complete investigations.
  • Use common electronic test equipment including digital multi-meters, oscilloscope, and medical device test equipment.
  • Use specialized tools, including microscopes and X-rays to perform analysis.
  • Maintain ownership and traceability of returned product
  • May build and test mechanical models, electrical circuits and assemblies, software, and/or perform basic analyses requiring knowledge of scientific and/or laboratory techniques
  • Compare results against predetermined limits and specifications
  • Provide technical expertise to service reps and quality engineering teams
  • Investigate customer complaints, including collaborating with others including service, sales, and at times customers to gather required information, perform device history review, and perform a quality assessment  
  • Write accurate and clear failure analysis reports and complaint investigations
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Support nonconformance and corrective and preventive action activities

What you need -

  • Technical Associate Degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years relevant technical experience
  • Electronic, electrical, and mechanical component troubleshooting experience
  • Prior experience using common electronic troubleshooting tools including digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics.
  • Prior experience with electronic and mechanical Medical Devices preferred
  • Soldering skills preferred

Knowledge / Competencies -

  • Knowledge of defibrillator products preferred
  • Intermediate electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic troubleshooting testing equipment, ie. oscilloscope, voltmeter, DMM
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills; oral and written
  • High level of computer proficiency

Workplace Requirements:

$ 31.41 - $43.46 per hour plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
