As the Manager, Data Engineering, you will manage delivery of data pipeline solutions that convert raw data into consumable structured data focused on Stryker customers in the US in areas of interest to our Customer Solutions Division.

What you will do

  • Develop talent and provide project leadership in the team's day-to-day project portfolio.  Experience with scrum and agile frameworks expected.
  • Drive and advance data engineering initiatives.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen to develop financial impacts for existing projects and evaluating new opportunities.
  • Support collaboration with Stryker enterprise across functions to leverage domain expertise and capabilities and manages expectations on timing and scope of project work.
  • Orchestrate collaboration with Stryker enterprise functions to leverage domain expertise and capabilities and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Ability to lead change management and navigate pushback from the business.
  • Lead discussions with data engineers and business stakeholders to identify opportunities where data engineering and architecture can be applied to real-world business opportunities.
  • Mentor and coach seasoned data engineering colleagues in developing their skills
  • Expert/master in identifying the most appropriate data engineering methods and tools for a particular use case and project.
  • Orchestrate presentations and communications through effective conveying of complex topics up to the leadership level.
  • Mentor and influence in solving and correction of complex issues.

What you need

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, data science or related field with applicable data engineering & architecture work experience.
  • 8+ years of work experience required.
  • Master's Degree or PhD in related discipline preferred.
  • Experience with project management specifically scrum and agile frameworks required.
  • Experience leading peers through end-to-end data engineering & architecture projects: from problem and requirements definition to architecture validation and deployment required.
  • Advanced experience in data modeling and storage of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data required.
  • Advanced experience in at least one programming language central to Data Engineering (e.g. SQL/Python/Spark) or skill in multiple languages required.
  • Experience in optimizing workflows, pipelines, and algorithms required.
  • Experience in ETL/ELT, pipeline creation, orchestration, & data lake/warehouse/Lakehouse architecture and knowledge of advancements in relevant software required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of cloud-based native tools such as data storage, distributed computing, business intelligence, and infrastructure as code (Power BI, Apache Spark, Azure, GCP, AWS etc.) required.
  • Experience in DataOps, DevOps, and/or SecOps required.
  • Experience in implementing/managing Agile/DevOps using GitHub/GitLab for versioning control, and infrastructure as code required.

$126,500 - $279,500 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 30%
