In this role, you would be supporting new product development within our Neurosurgical business, based out of our headquarters in the Kalamazoo, MI area. (relocation provided)

What You Will Do:

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead the design and development of complex electrical systems, including [specific projects or areas of expertise].

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering their growth and development.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.

  • Conduct thorough analysis and simulation of electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to enhance design processes and product performance.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

  • Engage in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support.

  • Collaborate with suppliers/partners on technical development topics to ensure program milestones are achieved.

Design and Development:

  • Develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges, utilizing your technical expertise.

  • Lead the design of electrical components and systems, leveraging your deep understanding of [specific areas].

  • Create detailed design specifications, oversee prototyping, and drive design verification and testing.

  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to achieve cohesive designs.

  • Lead design reviews, providing valuable insights and promoting collaborative problem-solving.

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring projects meet quality and performance goals.

Project Management:

  • Lead project planning, establish milestones, and allocate resources effectively.

  • Drive project timelines, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule and within budget.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of design specifications, analyses, and test results.

  • Collaborate with project managers to communicate progress, risks, and technical insights.


What You Will Need (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in EE or related discipline & 2+ years of work experience.

  • Basic working knowledge of FPGA experience.

  • Basic circuit design and working understanding (Power management DC/DC, Digital, Analog)

  • Working knowledge of communication bus interface and standards.

  • Working knowledge of PCB layout and electronics manufacturing processes. Altium / Cadence Design tools (preferred)

  • Basic experience with product safety and EMC regulatory standards and agency testing.

Travel Percentage: 10%
