As the Principal Architect, Finance you will deliver SAP S/4 capabilities and other supporting technologies within the Finance area into Stryker sites, through planning, mobilization, coordination, delivery, risk management, and completion of the Global SAP Program. You will be responsible for developing architectural designs for integrated systems within and across our ERP Transformational program (“Accelerate”) which will include SAP S/4 and all additional applications that will support the Finance solution. In this role, you will partner with Business Analysts and Technical Analysts to understand the overall business need, define overarching requirements, and create high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms and develop an overarching architectural design and model that will support Stryker’s business needs. The role is responsible for verifying the detailed technical documents, validating the configuration within the assigned applications, and ensuring solutions are delivered based on the architected design.

This hybrid role will require you to be in the office 2-3 days per week. This role can be based out of our Flower Mound, TX; Portage, MI; or Allendale, NJ locations

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and hyper care activities for SAP S/4 and peripheral applications (Vertex, Blackline, Coupa, Concur, HFM, Paymetric, etc.) including overall systems architecture and design in the larger context of complex heterogeneous systems. 

  • Coordinate and align with SAP Process and Solution Delivery Work Streams, e.g. Data Conversion, Deployment, and Stryker Affiliated Project Teams and other key business stakeholders.

  • Responsible for all architectural design aspects within the Finance area and maintaining knowledge of new technologies.

  • Responsible for all technical design, prototypes/mock-ups, development, testing, and delivery of solutions for release cycles and/or new projects within the Finance application stack

  • Play a significant role within the Architecture Review Board, in not only defining application standards but also driving the final decision on solution.

  • Accountable for the Solution Review Board activities driving architecture decisions, technical approvals across the application area, and alignment of scope against Service Delivery team minor releases.

  • Produce or review detailed functional and technical documents, configure and/or develop within the assigned applications, understand the overall design and architecture of an SAP platform, and deliver the end-to-end technical solution.

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the Global SAP ERP program work streams and the global application ecosystems to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integration across the SAP Program.

  • Manage and coordinate with external suppliers and deployment partners to ensure they meet their contracted deliverables, agreed-upon timelines, and metrics (KPIs) through the entire system development lifecycle.

  • Develop and build robust integration with Infrastructure, Security, Governance, Service Delivery, etc.

  • Proactively lead the resolution of risks and issues between global applications and the Global ERP program (SAP S/4).  Includes but not limited to the identification, assessment, and prioritization of program risks and issues.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical field of study required.

  • Master’s degree in a Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems, field is preferred.

  • 8+ years of professional experience required.

  • 5+ years of experience deploying or delivering global SAP ERP programs preferred

  • Experience with Financial Processes, GL, AR, AP, Bank Accounting, Asset Management, WBS, Cost Center and Profitability Accounting, and Product Costing

  • Exposure to S/4 modules such as General Ledger (FI-GL), Accounts Receivable (FI-AR), Accounts Payable (FI-AP), Asset Accounting (FI-AA), and Bank Accounting (FI-BL) is needed.

  • Experience in owning and building Finance applications and products

  • Experience as a Finance Lead and delivering the full or near full FICO scope

  • Experience with SAP S4/ECC application architecture required, including configuration and integration with extended platforms.
