Who We Are:

Stryker Instrument’s Interventional Spine Business (IVS) is a rapidly growing team that specializes in partnering with our Interventional Radiologist customers to develop innovative new products.  Our team is expanding, and we are looking for a dynamic up-and-coming engineer to spearhead new electrical subsystem designs on our next-generation programs.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to mentor and develop the skills of your junior peers, hone your electrical skills on challenging architectures, and to deliver amazing new products to the market.  We’re looking forward to your application!

This role is hybrid, located in Portage, MI, with the expectation to be in the office 3-4 days a week.

What You Will Do:


• Independently design and develop electrical components and sub-systems for medical devices
• Develop and apply advanced circuit and electrical system test methods
• Conduct or design advanced prototyping and testing
• Conduct advanced problem-solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and sub-system requirements
• Translate user needs to design inputs/specifications and produce advanced component and sub-system level designs
• Analyze and correct complex product design issues, using independent judgment
• Advance solutions by applying in-depth knowledge of customer needs, market and competitive offerings
• Support Voice of Customer sessions internally and with clinicians
• Be proficient with and mentor others in usage of industry standards, including design requirements and test strategies per applicable regulations
• Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success as a leader on the team
• Contribute to product development from concept through release

What You Need:
Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in EE or related discipline
  • 4+ years of work experience


Preferred:

  • Advanced understanding of electrical components and manufacturing methods including common failure modes
  • Working knowledge of the electrical design process
  • Experience with controls and/or radio frequency


 

Travel Percentage: 20%
