SSRRH-Sutter Santa Rosa Reg Hospital

Position Overview:

Under direct and indirect supervision, performs computerized tomographic (CT) examinations and procedures in the CT service areas. Under direct and indirect supervision, provides general radiology and fluoroscopic imaging in the radiology, emergency department, surgery and portable bedside service areas.

The incumbent processes images via CR (Computer Radiography) and PACS (Picture Archiving and Co9mmunications System), prepares records of service performed, makes adjustments to equipment, reports any malfunctioning equipment to their Supervisor/Manager, transports patients to and from the department. Works efficiently to maintain scheduled patient appointments and unscheduled patient exams. The incumbent works with high risk and critically ill patients.

EDUCATION

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Associate's: Radiologic Technology


CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

  • RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy Upon Hire

  • ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire

  • CT-Computed Tomography Upon Hire

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider within 30 Days of hire

  • CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

  • Minimum two (2) years of general radiology experience plus one year computed tomography experience, including experience or successful completion of training program (pre-hire, post-hire, or on-the-job) in area of specialty, if applicable.

  • Experience in an acute care hospital


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • A complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures is required in one or more of the following modalities: General Radiology and/or Computed Tomography.

  • Radiation safety/protection.

  • Understanding of current departmental and hospital; policies and procedures.

  • Understands contraindications and potential hazards of different exams.

Clerical:
• Demonstrates knowledge of hospital policies and departmental procedures relating to requests from patients, providers, medical facilities, attorney and insurance carriers
• regarding the release of images, reports, and other medical record material.
• Demonstrates knowledge and process of the billing for radiology image copying and radiology reports, when appropriate.

Computer:
• Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to work within Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa's (HIS) Health Information System, RIS (Radiology Information System) and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
• Maintains computer security.
• Maintains HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Privacy Accountability Act) Compliance.

Technical:
• Performs all duties and functions of a CAT Scan Technologist•
• Provides age appropriate care to neonates, , infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Adheres to established SOP's.
• Maintains a complete understanding of CT methodology and equipment as necessary .
• Broad based knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and physiology is required.
• Venipuncture training and certification is required with an annual CBA requirement.

Quality:
• Demonstrates reliability in a conscientious, complete, and accurate manner in which work assignments are performed.
• Demonstrates Quality Improvement principles in daily work and . participates in Ql monitoring and reporting.

Quantity:
• Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule to meet the needs of the department.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform multiple tasks as required by the position.
• Continuously utilizes time to maximize full potential, sets priorities, and uses good organizational skills.

Safety:
• Functions within an awareness of risk management and safety issues, reports concerns appropriately.
• Maintains complete understanding of the Sutter Lakeside Hospital
• emergency codes. Understands role in emergency situations.
• Uses appropriate PPD's when handling Hazardous Materials,
• Utilizes) proper body mechanics when moving patients.
• Functions as the Hospital GAT Scan Safety Officer and reports quarterly to the Manager of Imaging Services as to any safety violations in the CAT scan suite.

Professionalism:

• Maintains professional behavior and appearance. Wears Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa's ID Badge.
• Maintains and respects patients and patient confidentiality.

Pay Range is $53.03 to $65.93 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
