About the Role & Team

The Executive Assistant II for Original Content and ESPN Films plays a crucial role in supporting senior executives in a sports-related organization, with a primary focus on the creation, production, and distribution of original sports content. This role requires a deep understanding of the executive support role, a love of sports industry and the ability to manage administrative tasks, project coordination, and content-related responsibilities.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day workings of the leader(s) it supports. The Executive Assistant II will provide administrative support to the SVP, Original Content & ESPN Films and the Executive Producer, ESPN Films which is the storytelling team that creates award-winning original content that serves fans across all ESPN platforms!

What You Will Do

  • Content Coordination: Assist in the planning, development, and execution of original sports content, including but not limited to documentaries, interviews, and digital media

  • Calendar Management: Manage and prioritize the executive's calendar, ensuring alignment with content production schedules and promotional events. Coordinate meetings, shoots, and appearances

  • Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for content creators, athletes, coaches, and media partners. Facilitate communication and coordination to ensure seamless content production

  • Project Management: Collaborate with content teams to track project milestones, deadlines, and budgets. Help create and manage project plans to ensure content is delivered on time and within budget

  • Content Planning: Contribute to content strategy by conducting research, monitoring industry trends, and identifying potential opportunities for original sports content

  • Travel Arrangements: Coordinate travel logistics for content shoots, interviews, and events, including booking transportation, accommodations, and creating detailed itineraries

  • Document Management: Organize and maintain content-related documents, including scripts, release forms, and media assets. Ensure proper archiving and compliance with content rights and usage

  • Expense Management: Assist in the budgeting and financial tracking of content projects. Manage expense reports and ensure adherence to financial guidelines

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 3 years supporting a Vice President and/or equivalent experience

  • Sharp written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to handle and prioritize a full workload

  • Desire to immerse yourself fully and learn all aspects of your executive’s business

  • Strong proficiency with all types of computers, phones and office equipment, as well as mastery of Microsoft Office programs in a Windows environment

  • A calm head and steady hand to deal with the unexpected

  • “EQ” skills to build bridges, forge alliances and encourage people to want to work with you

  • Complete reliability handling confidential information

  • Flexibility in your schedule

  • Very strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at The Walt Disney Company

  • Experience working in a large public corporation

  • Desire to grow within the company

  • Workday, SAP, and Concur experience

  • Good knowledge of creating Power Point and Multimedia presentations

  • Coordinating, distilling, packaging and disseminating information to and from Original Content senior leadership team

  • Daily strategic time management between collaborators, new business relationships, team members, Creative and Planning periods

  • Long range calendar maintenance, prioritization and optimization for each manager

  • Positive demeanor and great energy

Education

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in New York is $80,442 to $107,910 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
