Collins Aerospace is looking for a highly motivated individual to fulfill an opening as a Specialist in our Mission Systems (MiS) Supplier Quality organization. This role serves as the analytics and reporting lead to the Mission Systems Supplier Quality Assurance organization.

To succeed in this role you will possess experience with ERP systems, programming and relational databases, business process automation and project management, including team facilitation. You must have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills and an overall strong business process data focus with an attention to detail. You must be able to work within cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established business intelligence tools and systems. In this role you will seek to develop relationships within MiS and Collins organizations. You may also work with our MiS sites to investigate and correct quality data issues while promoting a culture of continuous improvement related to data analytics and reporting. The goal of this role is to create a trusting relationship with an emphasis on removing waste and variability from data processes in MiS, aiding teams in reducing their costs, and improving the sites' quality and delivery.

This is a hybrid position that can be based out Windsor Locks, CT or any Collins Aerospace Mission Systems location such as Cedar Rapids, IA, Dallas, TX, Largo, FL, Colorado Springs, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Fairfield, CA and many more.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build scripts to automate, clean, transform, cross-reference and merge large sources of data
  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to establish, prepare, track, and present key organizational metrics to provide actionable information that drives improvements to key processes
  • Research new techniques and technologies and develop business cases to support their use
  • Identify data trends, generates insights and comes to business conclusions to support strategic decision making across the organization
  • Create data-based tools to assist leaders in making strategic decisions
  • Primary responsibilities of this position include:
  • Compile and analyze large and complex data sets requiring multiple problem-solving techniques
  • Compile monthly site/business unit (BU)/strategic business unit (SBU) performance reports/dashboards for defined metrics while ensuring data accuracy, validity and integrity
  • Develop reports and presentations using data to lead executive briefings for MiS Supplier Quality
  • Summarize data sets from various locations to provide actionable insights, identify trends, measure performance to allow executive and site leadership target process improvements and standard process opportunities
  • Build scripts to automate, clean, transform, cross-reference and merge large sources of data
  • Research metrics to develop baseline measures and establish goals such as supplier escapes and parts per million (product acceptance)
  • Understand the reports, tables, fields and data points within SAP and other ERP systems
  • Enhance the accuracy and capability of ERP system(s) data tables through communication with Digital Technology SAP data masters to correct missing data and add key fields to improve process conformance
  • Understand and align data sets between the four heritage companies (RC, B/E, UTAS, HRTN) that make up Collins Aerospace Mission Systems
  • Interact with other data groups to ensure alignment and share best practices
  • Independently make decisions regarding the data, seeking little to no direction from others
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to the SBU business leaders and teams to support their decision making with the data at hand
  • Self-sufficient and driven to take initiative and ownership of data, analytics, and reporting

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data Science experience
  • Software/Data Analysis experience
  • Experience with Tableau data analytics software

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
