Job Summary:

 

The Systems Engineering (SE) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).

 

The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) department is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer in McKinney, Texas. LWMDS guides all aspects of Systems Engineering that facilitate the development of complex systems to support the Raytheon Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) mission area.  The LWMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.

This is an onsite role based in McKinney, Texas.

 

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • You will perform Systems Engineering activities on the Multi-Function Radar Frequency System (MFRFS) Product Line. 
  • You will be responsible for facilitating program implementation, systems engineering execution and shaping the MFRFS Product Line through architecture, requirements, interface definition and collaboration with stakeholders such as customers and engineers from outside of Raytheon.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and ten (10) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
  • Experience with Missile Defense Systems or other related systems engineering experience
  • An active and current Department of Defense Security Clearance is required.  U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in EE, CE, Physics, Math, ME, or Aerospace.
  • Work experience in Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems including radar, interceptor, Command and Control systems
  • Experience using DOORs
  • Demonstrated collaboration, and written and verbal communications skills

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
