Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director Systems Engineering - Command, Telemetry, Control (CTC) Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for one of our premier programs on our Aurora, Colorado campus.

As the Associate Director Systems Engineering - CTC IPTL Lead, you will be responsible for will be leading the CTC component through planning, development and integration and test, all while meeting or exceeding scheduled milestones.  In this role you will manage 50+ Engineers on a geographically dispersed team with many Agile Development Teams. 

Additionally, in this role you will be responsible for the component’s cost, schedule, and technical performance baseline as well as ensuring the CTC component products come together technically for each delivery. Lastly, you will work directly with Program leadership, Systems and Software Teams and other Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL’s) and external stakeholders to execute a multi-million dollar sub-contract.  

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Work to execute the CTC component within cost and schedule
  • Responsible for innovation with respect to modernizing the CTC software baseline
  • Lead the team to evolve their Agile DevSecOps practices
  • Developing and hiring staff to execute the CTC component
  • Provide strategic leadership on new methods to implement and deploy to operations CTC baseline with a low risk approach
  • Work with members of the senior management team to support and implement the organizations business strategies

This position is an onsite role at our Aurora, CO (Denver area) campus

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Engineering, or related Technical field with a minimum 12+ years' relevant or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Active and transferable Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience leading Engineering Teams on Defense and/or Intelligence Programs
  • Experience driving cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Experience providing technical Systems Engineering plans and ensuring consistency across an integrated product team
  • Experience leading implementation of Agile and DevOps Development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience evolving a team’s culture into a high performing team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of a Program, executive leadership, customers, subcontractors, functional and technical leads (IPTLs, Chief Engineers, System Architects), etc.
  • Experience leading Engineering Teams on Defense / Intelligence Programs of 25+ people
  • Experience with Command & Control Systems and Components
  • Experience with onboarding new work, proposals, and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
  • Experience leading major milestone reviews on large Programs
  • Experience leading across geographical sites, subcontractors, and associate contractor companies
  • Advanced STEM Degree highly preferred
  • Development and/or Management experience on large software government contracts

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
