The Digital Controls group is looking for an experienced embedded software engineer with low level software development and verification experience, that is looking to work with world class engineers to develop the next generation of aerospace technology. You get to sit with the brightest innovators in the world and be a little cynical too. Our team is focused on developing next generation aerospace technologies for leading industry engine and airframe manufacturers.  You will have the opportunity to work on many different technologies across a wide variety of products, so not your typical repetitive workload.

This role is part of a collaborate onsite team focusing on developing next generation aerospace technologies for leading industry engine and airframe manufacturers. 

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

What YOU will do:

  • You will drive low level design efforts of our software products for legacy and next generation control systems. 
  • You will create and refine software architecture for embedded control and diagnostic systems.
  • You will conduct and coordinate software development activities, conducting complex tests, debugging systems with control and diagnostic capabilities while making recommendations to management on ways to improve cost and quality of software products.
  • You will design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and function.
  • You will design and verify software for multi-core processing systems.
  • You will conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of control and diagnostic system.
  • You will establish end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.

  • Your work will be involved with the design, development, and verification of all products in our portfolio.
  • You can become a subject matter expert in a number of different areas with exposure to the variety of businesses and products in an ever-evolving field. We are growing, so can you.

Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.

Skills you must have:

  • Proficiency with embedded computing systems, software architecture principles as they apply to embedded software, and multi-core design principles.
  • Embedded software engineering experience.
  • Low level software development and verification experience.

Skills we value:

  • Experience with aerospace software product lifecycles, and experience with software integration and verification techniques.
  • Software and System design experience in Aerospace.
  • Experience Formulating high level software system designs.
  • Experience adhering to DO-178C development process.

Employee Referral Eligible

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
