Mission Systems Microelectronics is seeking to fill a Staff Industrial Engineering position.  This group is responsible for the Microelectronics manufacturing technology activities throughout Collins Aerospace.  This engineer will be involved in all aspects of microelectronics manufacturing and must possess strong material skills including the desire to develop state of the art miniaturized electronic devices. Responsible for driving improvement in design and product quality. 

This role will be performed ONSITE in at our Collins Aerospace location in Coralville, IA.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in Microelectronics product development activities including assembly concepts and road mapping efforts 
• Develop technologies/processes required for next generation assemblies 
• Support factory transition of products 
• Provide manufacturing support for Microelectronic assemblies/materials currently in production 
• Generate 3D models for tooling of various manufacturing processes
• May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency  
• Review and publish process standardization documentation for best practices
• Must be able to travel <5%, both domestically and internationally. 

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

• Electronics design and manufacturing assembly experience
• Experience with cleanroom techniques and procedures
• Experience interpreting technical drawings
• Knowledge of Microelectronic materials
• Failure analysis techniques 
• Additive Manufacturing 
• Effective communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal) 
• Be highly motivated; self-directed; and able to balance multiple tasks 
• Work well within a diverse team environment

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
