Collins Aerospace is looking for a high energy, dynamic team member for a site Material Operation Industrialization Manager role to support new product development, new product introduction, and Materials Operations continuous improvement.  The successful candidate will provide critical inputs as it pertains to all elements of production control, operations support, and related engineering change management.  The individual must be keenly aware of quality rework time and cost so that mitigation of waste is at the forefront of all cross functional inputs.  Adept understanding of product life cycle with great focus on design for manufacturability to optimize the mature series production stage.  This role will support development and continuous improvement of job closure robustness.  Intellectual curiosity is greatly needed for this role.   

This position will report to the site Senior Materials Manager and will interact and collaborate with the Value Stream Leaders, SIOP teams, Customer Service, Program Management, Quality, Procurement, Production Control, Operations, Business Development, and Engineering on a regular and frequent basis. The individual must embrace CORE, which is Collins Aerospace Operating System; additionally, champion lean manufacturing and excel in a team environment with high-performance expectations. This position primarily supports the Cabin Integration value stream at our Everett, WA facility; however, upon achieving best practices the candidate may roll out the benchmark to other value streams as required. 

This role may be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and audit planning standard work for process improvements.
  • Industrialize planning/scheduling functional deliverables.
  • Participate in cross functional early product launch IPT.  (Engineering, Business Development, Customer Service, Program Management, Operations, Quality, and Procurement).
  • Track turnaround time change management implementation, production workstation manufacturing days, BOM unique detail scrap rates, and other manufacturing inhibitors.
  • Represent Maintenance Planning at Value Stream Mapping, RASCI, and associated CORE Process Improvement Events.
  • Develop planning/scheduling team skillsets through mentorship and external training.
  • Travel Expectations: <10%

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, business or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in support of aerospace and/or maintenance management.
  • 5+ Years of Aerospace maintenance planning and scheduling experience.
  • 3+ Years of New Product Introduction (NPI) or New Product Development (NPD) experience.
  • Adept with requirements for NPI/NPD DFM, qualification, FAI, and series production.
  • Ability to develop a plan for new programs leveraging lessons learned or repurposing resources from sunsetting business.
  • Understanding of Engineering Changes, Authorizations, and Service Bulletins.
  • Experience leading small projects or prior manager of small team.
  • Core Champion or equivalent training in process improvement disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and organization, with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to develop and champion an environment with high levels of Structure, Culture, and Predictability
  • SAP experience
  • Advance Microsoft Office suite capabilities

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
