Do you want to be part of a team that expects to win every time we take to the air? The Precision Navigation Systems Engineering group, working on every aspect of guiding airplanes safely to the deck, is seeking a new Systems Engineer I. 

This engineer may be asked to contribute to a variety of different landing components including, but not limited to; datalink/communications, Position and Time sensors, Navigation Algorithms, Modeling, Antennas, etc. The possible activities may span the entirety of the Engineering Development Lifecyle. However, the ideal candidate will have a passion for advanced mathematical analysis and want to solve the most complex physics problems in the field. Willingness to travel and represent the company at customer sites.

This role may be eligible for relocation. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced mathematical analysis on date from testing of airborne algorithms.
• Assist in performing analysis in Matlab in all aspects of modeling and testing.
• Assist with creating and debugging Python and other similar scripting languages to prepare software for customer delivery according to customer requirements related to hardware and software specifications.
• Assist with the creation of Navigation Algorithms and modeling synergistic to customer specifications and system level requirements.
• Perform data collection related to communications protocol, antennas, and/or Flight Dynamics.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
•  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract.
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degree.
• Experience with the following: Simulink or other MBD software, experience with a communications protocol, antennas, or Flight Dynamics and Python or similar scripting language.
• Comfortable working in a lab environment.

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
