Senior Principal Systems Engineer - APNT Systems IPT Lead (Onsite)

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer with a passion for engineering and the desire to lead to join the Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team. The team is responsible for architecting, designing, and developing systems for real-time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military ground, airborne, and maritime applications. 

This position offers abundant opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of Assured PNT systems architecture, and to apply that knowledge in a team effort to develop our navigation products for the warfighter.

What you will do: 

  • You will provide project execution management including detail planning, cost account management, status and analysis, while also participating in system design and implementation activities where possible. 
  • Leading and managing the engineering bid and planning process for a multi-disciplinary engineering team. 
  • You will participate in and facilitate Agile team ceremonies, Agile sprint reviews, user story refinement and end of sprint product demos as a product owner. 
  • You will collaborate across Integrated Product Teams (IPTS) on program goals. 
  • You will provide communication and status to relevant stakeholders. 
  • You will support verification and traceability of the system requirements. 
  • You will support peer reviews on test procedures & design documentation. 
  • You will own the development of your design approach through collaboration with subject matter experts. 
  • You will help drive resolution for technical issues through problem-solving and coordination across impacted teams. 
  • You will have the opportunity to improve our approaches through sharing lessons learned with the team and department.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements. 
  • This position will require a up to 15% travel.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
