To support our existing business and enable future growth Collins Aerospace, Burgess Hill are seeking a talented 3D Generalist to work for a 12 month salaried placement to create digital assets for use in flight simulation. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with both organic and hard-surface modelling in a low-poly game environment and have a proven ability, with demonstrable experience, of non-specific 3D modelling software.
During your placement you will be responsible for delivering solutions to fulfil the requirements set out for simulating a real time flight training environment. You will receive mentoring and guidance from senior engineers but also enjoy a degree of autonomy and you will be given the opportunity to interface with other business functions to gain the necessary input for the required solution. Your day-to-day duties will involve design and development activities relating to the provision of military and commercial pilot training environments.  This is a fast-paced environment driven by customer deliverables which will help you further develop your project management skills. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Creating and revising digital assets, responding to guidance and review from the creative and technical supervisors

• Optimising models for export in our proprietary real-time EP (Environment Processor) system

• Ensuring that digital assets meet standards and specifications with respect to aesthetics, accuracy, optimisation and also external government regulatory standards

• Collaborating with other developers and programmers

• Receiving or giving critiques

• Adapting to technical dependencies and engine limitations

• Organising and accurately estimating tasks

• Maintaining compliance to all requirements

Preferred Experience:

• Portfolio showcasing professional and personal work

• Extensive knowledge of 3D modelling tools and texturing tools

• Capability to deliver a quality product to meet requirements and budgets

• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

• Familiarity with low poly modelling techniques and asset optimisation

• Studying for a Degree within a 3d modelling / Computer games / animation / digital art discipline or equivalent qualification

• Programming and scripting skills would be beneficial, but not essential
