About Disney Cruise Line Since launching in 1998, Disney Cruise Line has established itself as a leader in the cruise industry, providing a setting where families can reconnect, adults can recharge and children can experience all Disney has to offer. Today, the award-winning Disney Cruise Line continues to expand its blueprint for family cruising with a fleet of five ships — the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish — and three more ships planned. One of these ships will exclusively homeport in Singapore for at least five years beginning in 2025, marking the cruise line’s debut in Southeast Asia. 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Communications & Public Affairs to lead and navigate the Communications & Public Affairs strategy for Disney Cruise Line Singapore. The Senior Manager will proactively enhance and protect the reputation of Disney Cruise Line in Singapore, advocate for the company in the public policy area, creating long-term relationships with key organizations and government/community leaders. The Senior Manager will develop and lead strategic communications and all external media relations for our newest ship to Homeport in Singapore in 2025. This position reports to the Executive Director, Communications & Public Affairs APAC DPEP.

The Senior Manager, Communications & Public Affairs will respond to media inquiries; develop, write and produce communication tools such as key messages and press releases; provide communications support for issues management and crisis communications; and monitor ongoing concerns that may affect the business. The Senior Manager will also oversee the internal and executive communications function, led by the Internal & Executive Communications Manager. The role will partner closely with other Disney Cruise Line partners, including Public Relations and Marketing, as well as DPEP business segments within the APAC region.  

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company in the public policy area with key organizations, associations and government/community leaders. 
  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic communication plans that support business objectives. 
  • Proactively identify key opportunities to build the business, promote reputation drivers among crucial audiences and identify/mitigate emerging issues using an integrated approach that considers all aspects of communications.
  • Develop key messaging and responses, working closely with the Internal Communications and Public Relations functions.  
  • Communicate key messages and strategies to internal and external audience.   
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with elected officials and industry/community partners. 
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships and communications with APAC, local and industry business media. 
  • Create and implement solutions to work with government and community through knowledge of company resources and priority areas. 
  • Partner with senior company leaders to facilitate company engagement in key community, state, and national organizations. 
  • Assist in monitoring media and preparing on-going listening reports and elevate relevant information as needed.
  • Support the ongoing implementation of comprehensive emergency preparedness and crisis communications plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Public Affairs, Communications, Government Relations)
  • 10+ years of experience with demonstrated success in government relations, public affairs, or corporate communication type role.
  • Strong understanding of the local Singapore government and Tourism bodies. Existing relationships preferred.
  • Understanding of the SEA Travel industry, cruise industry experience preferred.
  • Experience advising and collaborating with cross-functional client teams and stakeholders to design and deliver effective policy strategies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve complex problems and drive results.  
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives at the same time and drive them to completion.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends with the ability to travel (25%) on both the ship, and across APAC Markets.
