Job Description

The Opportunity

EY Strategy and Transactions Sustainability (EY SaST) sustainability services including ESG and Impact Advisory. The EY SaST team consists of a mix of environmental and social specialists that provides various services and advisory support to our clients in Africa, Europe, Asia and the United States of America.

 

Key Responsibilities      

  • Creating and delivering impact strategies and frameworks for clients, including policy, procedures, measurement and monitoring.
  • Developing Theories of Change for clients.
  • Compiling Impact and Sustainability Reports for clients.
  • Build and manage relationships with key external clients, including fund and asset managers, executive teams and sustainability functions that result in business growth.
  • Proven project management experience from proposal stage to completion including establishing scopes and project budgets, client communications, managing deliverables, and coordinating project teams.
  • Provide key research, analysis, and advisory insight and support to the consultancy team and wider business.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Minimum of 6 years relevant working experience in the Impact space.
  • Consulting experience in Africa and/or internationally, particularly with financial institutions (Banks, DFIs, Private Equity, Impact Investors etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience working with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Impact Measurement Programme, the 2X Challenge, GIIN, IRIS+ and other relevant impact-related international frameworks and guidelines
  • Experience compiling impact reports, developing impact measurement and management tools, impact data collection and analysis, and advising clients on impact measurement and management is required.
  • Experience working with UNPRI, TCFD, SFDR and other frameworks is preferable.
  • Experience with report writing, data collection and analysis and research is preferred.
  • Capable of managing a variety of project deliverables with varying timelines.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to travel locally and abroad.

 

To qualify for the role you must have  

  • Applicants must have a degree in a relevant field – i.e. Social Sciences.
  • Masters degree is preferable.

 

Location:           

  • Applicant can be based in Johannesburg or Cape Town, South Africa.
  • The position offers a hybrid working arrangement (2 office based days).
  • Offices are located in Sandton, Johannesburg or the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
