As part of the Global Public Relations, Content Creation & Digital Integration team, the Senior Manager, Public Relations is responsible for managing global media relations and proactive storytelling supporting key priorities across the DPEP segment. Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, this role is part of a specialized bi-coastal team that works closely with partners to create compelling PR and content strategies that break through the noise to differentiate Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.

In this role you will:

• Lead a team of public relations professionals focused on impactful storytelling and media relations 
• Build and nurture relationships with journalists; pitch story ideas and secure national media coverage 
• Develop and execute effective distribution strategies for PR content, leveraging various platforms and channels, including traditional media and social media 
• Develop creative narratives and mine innovative opportunities to highlight business priorities across earned media and owned content 
• Oversee PR activities such as press events, stunts, eventized moments and new product/experience launches
• Manage strategic communication planning and execution for priority campaigns and liaise with global counterparts  
• Craft presentations and articulate PR strategies that influence and garner support across the organization and with senior leaders
• Represent DPEP PR perspective and partner with cross-company teams to collaborate, integrate and cultivate fresh ideas

Your superpowers include:

• 8 or more years in global public relations, with a proven track record in proactive storytelling
• Experience with leadership and team management across job levels and sites/locations
• Exceptional consumer media relations skills with proven ability to form relationships with key national, local and niche media outlets
• Drive work forward proactively with the ability to identify creative solutions when you’re in a pinch
• Ability to think strategically, analyze industry trends, and develop innovative approaches to storytelling
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital PR strategies to amplify storytelling efforts
• Meticulous attention to detail and project management skills
• Passion for public relations, storytelling and sharing creative ideas
• Nimble and able to quickly adapt as well as respond 
• Comfortable with disrupting the status quo and lend a fresh eye
• Translate your passion for PR and communications into engaging content and earned/owned media efforts while remaining focused on ROI
• Team player who loves working collaboratively and exudes optimism
• Service-oriented with an ability to partner in a highly matrixed organization

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, PR or related field

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $134,972.00 - $181,060.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.  A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
