Disney’s Direct to Consumer team oversees the Hulu and Disney+ streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment, helping to bring The Walt Disney Company’s best-in-class storytelling to fans and families everywhere. The Disney+ Programming team is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, slate management, and programming insights that contribute to a cohesive strategic content approach for the service.
Job Summary:
The Content Planning Associate will support the day-to-day execution of the global business rules and content windowing strategy for Disney+ Programming, including managing trackers, developing status reports for executives, and contributing to special projects. The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter with a meticulous attention to detail and collaborative mindset. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Content Planning and Windowing.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Support Sr. Manager with defining and documenting the global business rules and process around content sharing/windowing (e.g., establishing 2nd-run windows for linear exhibition, identifying content that can be licensed to 3P partners)
Track day-to-day updates that come in from various stakeholders/executives, at times specific to individual titles, sets of titles, or deals
Support Sr. Manager with ad hoc special projects tied to function
Develop summaries, presentations, and status reports that will be distributed to key stakeholders and executives
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Experience in fields related to content strategy, licensing/windowing, content curation, and project management, ideally in digital media and entertainment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Strong diplomatic mindset and proven ability to work well in a team environment and across a matrixed organization.
Manage multiple demands and competing priorities effectively for self and others.
Strong emotional intelligence and collaborative spirit.
Ability to adapt quickly to new technology and constantly evolving organizations, and to thrive in an extremely fast-paced and high-pressure working environment.
Passion for The Walt Disney Company segments, brands and franchises.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree
2+ years experience in digital media.
Preferred Education and Experience
SVOD or Linear TV experience
Windowing/programming strategy experience
