Job Description

Join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Finance team! We are looking for entrepreneurial, analytical, creative, flexible leaders to help us redefine the IT industry. In this role, you’ll be at the center of driving AWS’s sales strategy, partnering directly with the Worldwide Specialist Organization’s Productivity Applications and Cloud Foundations organizations. You’ll collaborate with senior Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Finance leaders to build financial plans, analyze large-scale investment opportunities, develop new go-to-market strategies, and identify opportunities for business growth. You will play key roles in both running the day-to-day business and helping drive strategic growth for the future.
You are a well-rounded performer and will play an impactful role on the team. You demonstrate excellent business judgment and problem solving, and possess strong attention to detail.

Key job responsibilities
• Provide next-level leadership and contribute meaningful insights to executive-level decision making by driving rigorous analysis, thoughtful prioritization, and long-term thinking.
• Formulate investment models that will provide meaningful impact on the business decision making.
• Provide insight into key AWS customer segments by collaborating with external and internal stakeholders.
• Work across Sales and Finance teams to ensure transparent use of resources, and collaborate on ways to drive both increased productivity and speed of innovation.
• Create and cultivate the financial discipline to ensure accuracy of forecasts (e.g. revenue), delivery of goals (e.g. budgets, productivity), and adherence to policy and controls.

Basic Qualifications:

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
