The opportunity  

 

EY.ai Assistant Director plays a critical role within the Global Client Service/EY.ai /Tech@EY BMC team. The candidate will strongly demonstrate the ability to build and execute internal communications programs bringing them to life by creating engaging initiatives blended with more traditional channels.

 

Together with the EY.ai Associate Director and the wider BMC team, you will orchestrate and contribute to position EY.ai at the forefront of artificial intelligence (AI) enabled business transformation for EY and for clients. EY.ai is our unifying platform that brings together human capabilities and artificial intelligence to help clients transform through confident and responsible adoption of AI. 


EY.ai Assistant Director will be responsible for aligning the communications strategy with the EY.ai program priorities which enables EY to help build confidence and our teams use AI to create exponential value and unlock positive human impact. 

 

In this role EY.ai Assistant Director will support the delivery of the EY.ai program pillars’ (Transform clients, Transform EY, Transform world), messaging and internal story of EY.ai and will work closely with the EY.ai Associate Director to deliver exceptional communications and engagement for the Program Leaders: Chief technology Officer and Global AI Leader including content preparation and coordination for global leadership events, global events and contributions into other Client Service events (SLs, Global Markets, Technology etc).

 

EY.ai Assistant Director will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Global Client Service CE strategy, with specific responsibility supporting leadership communications and engagement activities, as well as providing agile support across the Global Client Service CE team. The individual will collaborate with peers and stakeholders to raise awareness and drive internal activation for priority initiatives. The candidate will articulate AI enabled transformation positioning into simple, memorable, meaningful messages, content and campaigns whilst supporting the continued growth of our business. 
 
Key to the role is teaming with Global colleagues working in Knowledge, Communications and Engagement BMC, Service Lines, Markets and Marketing. The individual is also expected to have, or to quickly establish, a strong internal network and will be primarily responsible for creating and managing a robust metrics process across EY.ai supported by colleagues in GDS. 

 

Success in this role will be demonstrated through the establishment of trusted advisor relationships with program pillar leaders (Transform client, transform EY, transform world) delivering robust reporting for the Global Client Service BMC team and collaboration with Global and Area CE teams as they execute their annual EY.ai communications strategy and plans. 

 

Essential functions of the job

 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on BMC and AI issues, trends and long-term implications for EY’s brand strategy generally and its Communications and Engagement approach in particular
  • Develop strong ‘trusted advisor’ relationships with EY.ai senior leadership
  • Support awareness of Global CE priorities and practices within the EY.ai team, facilitating aligned execution, learning and efficiencies
  • Develop ideas and share innovative and creative communication approaches to key projects
  • Working closely with the Global Client Service Technology and Transformation CE Leader 
  • to enable all firm to articulate, own and activate the compelling story and narrative behind the transform clients, transform ey and transform world strategy
  • Support engagement efforts with Area & Region CE Leaders to align and deploy EY.ai global programs to the regions, delivering greater impact

 

About Global Client Service

 

Led by the GMP – Client Service, Global Client Service spans a number of business dimensions including Areas, Service Lines, Global Markets, and Technology and Transformation. For purposes of this role, the coverage is focused on communications and engagement activities for the GMP – CS, EY.ai and Technology and Transformation. 

 

Teaming and collaboration with peers across Areas, Service Lines and Global Markets is critical to enable the execution of the broader client service agenda in alignment to NextWave.

 

Key responsibilities 

 

  • Work closely with the EY.ai Associate director to support the execution of communications and engagement activities for the portfolio of EY.ai and Tech@EY 
  • Be the interface with business stakeholders in the sourcing and preparation of strategic content creation, with laser focused attention to detail
  • Manage and coordinate interactions with creative design agencies, ensuring the delivery of world-class communications assets and materials
  • As a member of the Global Client Service team, you will be agile and work collaboratively with peers to plan and deliver both specific business initiatives and team-wide programs including the annual AI and Tech@EY Live events 
  • Facilitate/create impactful communications leveraging a broad channel mix (as appropriate) including newsletters, webcasts, videos, intranet, SharePoint, Discover, Yammer and Microsoft Teams
  • Work closely with the peers across the global CE community to align, integrate and activate programs to drive increased engagement around key business priorities across relevant audiences 
  • Establish relationships and collaborate with BMC colleagues from across Global, Area, Markets, Service Lines and Sectors to understand the internal channels, initiatives and programs taking place across the global organization.

 

Knowledge, competency and skill requirements

 

  • Use tact and diplomacy in complex, sensitive and political situations; lead with courage when facilitating tough conversations with stakeholders and colleagues
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder and networking skills – able to effectively manage and influence across multiple stakeholders.   
  • Effectively navigate EY’s and BMC’s matrix organization to access, inform and engage the right people at the right time; identify, build and sustain partnerships with other functions
  • Assert own ideas and persuade others; gain support and commitment from others; mobilize people to take action; use creative approaches to motivate others to meet practice and deliver BMC strategic goals; engage with leaders effectively to gain sponsorship for activities
  • Show initiative, coupled with accuracy and attention to detail; demonstrate reliability
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage several projects concurrently; demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Be a strong self-starter and lateral thinker, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently
  • Good knowledge of EY’s global business, NextWave global strategy and the technology solutions and capabilities that drive transformational change for our clients and for EY.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into simple, high impact messages and laser focused attention to detail.
  • Strong team player, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced and agile environment.


To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • 7+ years of experience managing a team and mentoring colleagues
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience (or equivalent area of study or experience); professional or higher qualification in Communications, Corporate Communications, Marketing Communications or Public Relations preferred
  • Significant strategic internal communications experience with proven track record in supporting executive teams in a high-performing environment
  • Working knowledge of EY, the professional services sector, or matrix organizations, including across different cultures and geographies
  • Demonstrable track record in working with external creative agencies
  • Strong verbal and written English
