The role

With the impact of climate change and other environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues coming ever more starkly into focus, governments, investors, and businesses are under increasing pressure to take rapid and decisive action.

We are looking for market facing talented professionals with considerable experience in Sustainability strategy. Professionals who can help clients navigate in the Sustainability arena, deriving appropriate strategies and assessing the effects of Sustainability on corporate performance and risks, as well as examine potential long term value creation.

You will play a pivotal role in developing EYP sustainability practice, advising clients on strategy development (e.g. growth strategy, product strategy, new market entry).

 

Strategy and Transactions offers a wide variety of services. The key competencies include, among others, the below:

  • Lead advisory (M&A)
  • Transaction Diligence
  • Valuations, Modelling & Economics
  • Restructuring
  • Strategy
  • Banking transaction advisory services
  • Real Estate transaction advisory services

 

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide robust Sustainability assessments, strategies, analysis and insights, while leveraging financial, socio-economic and advanced data to support our clients’ strategic and operational decision making around all elements of the sustainability agenda.
  • Often reporting directly to a company’s most senior executives, we enhance our clients’ understanding of utilizing sustainability-related levers to reduce a company’s operating costs and/or increase revenues, ultimately increasing profitability and to enable more confident, strategic decisions and judgements around their strategic sustainable agenda and capital allocation.
  • Responsible for leading our largest client projects, shaping the deliverables, client relationships, and developing the wider team, with the support and coaching of our partners.
  • Drive exceptional client service across all engagements and guide your teams to ensure high quality of work and client ready outputs.
  • Build recurring client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Be involved in developing proposals and bids, and actively contribute to EY-Parthenon thought leadership and internal operational initiatives.
  • Help generate sales, especially via existing client and internal relationships, in order to drive the revenue targets of the business.
  • Coach the team. Proactively support the professional development of the more junior members of the team as well as manage effectively upwards, working to develop an inclusive culture that drives high-performing teams whilst supporting the work-life balance experience of all involved in an engagement.

 

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Strong academic record, preferably relating to engineering, economics, environmental science, clean energy, green economy & sustainability or related fields; MBA is a plus
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering sustainability value creation and/or ESG strategies
  • Proven working experience in a similar role in consulting industry
  • Understanding of key sustainability issues and trends (carbon, circular economy, social-economic impact) and how they link to business value and/or how sustainability strategies create or protect value
  • Be able to work on complex projects that require knowledge of business strategy, sustainability strategy and operations
  • Advanced business writing and verbal communication skills both in Greek and English
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong technical, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines

 

Ideally, you will also have:

  • High motivation and passion for sustainability and a demonstrated capacity to deal with ambiguity and overcome challenges;
  • Energetic, positive and team player;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
