Amazon is seeking a Network Planner to create the future of Amazon Air. Your role will have a broad scope and include structured 3-5 year capital planning (e.g. number of aircraft and buildings), 1-2 year operational planning (e.g. flight schedule development), as well as other ad-hoc projects to continually raise the bar on delivering for our customers. To do this you will work closely within Network Planning and with partner teams including Finance, Operations, Process Engineering, and Research Science & Technology. In this role you will make customer focused and cost effective decisions, directly impacting Amazon’s transportation network.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop long-term plans for Amazon Air's US route network in order to deliver customer orders at higher speed and lower costs.
- Serve as key point of contact for internal business units (Finance, Ground Operations, Fleet Planning, etc.) as well as other business units (e.g. Ground Transportation, Fulfillment Centers, etc.).
- Program management for capital and operational planning including developing timelines, engaging stakeholders, identifying risks and developing contingencies.
- Evaluating tradeoffs on the mechanisms to solve for customer needs and cost in order to drive consensus across partner teams (Finance, Operations, Process Engineering, Procurement, etc.).
- Partnering with Research Science & Technology as a subject matter expert to create new planning and forecasting tools.
- Navigating through ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the process and delivering on commitment.
- Domestic travel up to 20% of the time


A day in the life
The Network Design Planner will be responsible for designing network operating plans (new routes!) and communicating those plans across internal teams. They will also assist in creating long term strategic recommendations for fleet, gateway, hub, and sortation needs. Through data analysis, modeling, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and industry research you will work towards developing an optimal Amazon Air flight schedule maximizing asset utilization across both air and ground asset while achieving multi-faceted business objectives.

About the team
Our team is responsible for determining where Amazon Air flies its growing air cargo fleet, while achieving core metrics around customer speed, cost, and sustainability. We are relentless in providing the highest quality products to our internal and external stakeholders, while always meeting all regulatory and operational constraints.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Bellevue, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications:

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 2+ years of supply chain experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications:

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $62,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $150,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
