Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic developer to join our Db2 for z/OS team. As part of the development team, you will be responsible for various driver interfaces between clients and Db2z that allow the clients to create portable applications to access Db2z server information. You will also be responsible for numerous components related to supporting spatial data type, indexing/searching Db2z documents, and embedding messaging functions in SQL statements.
Your main duties will include working closely with our clients and client success team to resolve customers problems, as well as deliver potential new enhancements with high quality based on our customer requirements.
We are looking for someone who has a strong desire to learn new technologies and passionate about product quality and new technology. Candidates with strong programming, debugging, and problem troubleshooting skills are needed to excel in this position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ Years in Programming skills in C/C++, Java, SQL, Assembler, and a desire to learning new technologies
- Experience with GitHub
- Knowledgeable about Relational Database concepts and technologies
- Familiar with software development cycle and Agile software development process
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexible working schedule to collaborate with developers located in California, U.S.A. (PST).
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- IBM Certified: Db2 for z/OS administrator or similar certification
- Knowledge about IBM System Z, Db2 for z/OS, Db2 for z/OS stored procedures, user defined functions, and application development
- Programming skills in Python, Node.js, and JCL
- Ability to analyze system output from systems Abends (logs, dumps).
