Your Role and Responsibilities
The Security & Compliance Specialist is responsible for creating and leading SOC programs which enable the IBM Security business to manage compliance and risk more effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Define and lead transition and transformation projects that span multiple environments
• Develop and implement programs to measure and assess compliance with policy requirements and industry standards
• Act as a subject matter expert for security and compliance projects
• Review and approve/manage security, exceptions, RCA’s, compensating controls and remediation plans

This position requires an experienced senior level specialist to work closely with the Canadian SOC infrastructure operations teams to implement programs and projects which will ensure effective IT security risk management is embedded in all stages of systems and product/offering lifecycles. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IBM security best practices and frameworks (NIST, ISO, MITRE), working knowledge of cybersecurity emerging risks and threats, a demonstrated record of creating and leading programs, the ability to document complex processes and have a strong knowledge of IBM and industry standard security policies. The ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently and communicate factually and efficiently across a broad spectrum of stakeholders are critical to this position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 5 years as a Security Specialist with proficiency in Monitoring, QRadar, Automation, ServiceNow, SQL
• Ability to learn and translate technical issues in a business risk context
• Demonstrated proficiency with presentations and status reporting
• Tenacity at uncovering and addressing problems in a global matrixed organization
• Talent to promote collaboration between stake-holders, solve problems, achieve objectives, meet schedules, improve efficiencies, exercise good judgement, and communicate clearly
• Strong administrative and organizational talent
• ELIGIBILITY FOR SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with DevOps concepts and tooling
• Experience with automation technologies and their implementation
• Experience with diverse system integrations to provide detail views of current issues
• Experience in all aspects of ITSM implementation and support
• Knowledge of ITSS or ISEC security policies
• Holds Secret Security Clearance
