Senior Consultant, Data Governance, Financial Accounting Advisory Services
The opportunity

As a Data Governance consultant, you will be responsible for implementing and participate in delivery of Data Governance and Data Management solutions to our clients. Our consultants understand, this includes supporting clients in setting up Data governance policies and frameworks, support in identification of data sources, defining data glossary, creating metadata, identifying and defining data quality rules, defining data lineage and classify data and support the implementation of data governance / Data management tools.

 

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. This includes:

• Provide consulting services to help our clients establish and deeply embed industry standard Data Management practices, frameworks, platforms and processes while aligning to their data, technology and business strategies.
• Provide client guidance in planning, and exercising oversight, and control over management of data and the use of data and data-related sources, including but not limited to defining roles, responsibilities, and processes for ensuring accountability for and ownership of data assets across an enterprise
• Provide consultancy in areas such as (but not limited to) Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Architecture, Data Modelling, Data Quality, Document and Content Management, Master Data Management, Open Data, Personal Data Protection, Data Security, Data Classification
• Provide recommendations on data best practices, technologies, industry trends and evaluate vendors and service provides on behalf of the client,
• Plan and run workshop sessions on DM with key stakeholders of clients including their various lines of businesses and technology teams, as well as other partners and vendors in engagements
• Help clients identify areas of opportunity with regards to improving data quality, and lead initiatives to resolve long-standing quality issues
• Establish strong relationship with client and the wider EY network
• Mentor and manage junior consultants in the Data Management team
• Leads the engagements for defining the Data Governance Framework
• Lead the creation, maintenance and monitoring of the DG policies, processes, procedures and playbook(s) for guiding the data management aspects of the Enterprise Data 
• Interact with senior leaders, understand their business goals, contribute to the delivery of the workstreams
• Get involved in business development activities like creating proof of concepts (POCs), point of views (POVs), assist in proposal writing and service offering development, and capable of developing creative power point content for presentations
• Interface and communicate with the onsite teams directly to understand the requirement and determine the optimum solutions
• Create technical solutions as per business needs by translating their requirements and finding innovative solution options
• Ensure continual knowledge management and contribute to internal L&D teams

 

Skills and attributes for success

• Have previous experience in setting up data governance frameworks, policies and procedures
• Have previous experience operationalizing Data governance frameworks
• Strong communication, presentation and team building skills and experience in producing high quality reports, papers, and presentations.
• Familiar with Data management tools such as Informatica
• Experience in executing and managing research and analysis of companies and markets, preferably from a commercial due diligence standpoint.

 

Skills and attributes for success

• Completed at least 3-3 full life cycle experience Data management and Data governance framework setup
• Good experience in Integration experience using ETL tools, data lineage and data integration.
• completed life cycle implementation using any of the Data Quality tools like Informatica DQ would be an added advantage
• Create and maintain DG policies, playbook(s), processes, procedures for guiding various data management processes, including adoption of data security and privacy, data quality control and data dissemination activities
• Hands on experience on any one of the data governance tools such as Informatica or similar tools.
• Align data management practices with regulatory requirements
• Understand and assess the Source to target map documents and provide the recommendations if any
• Good experience in analyse, design and develop ETL mappings, workflows 
• Good exposure on data quality rules, data quality tools
• Experience in Data Governance and Management regulatory frameworks such as GDPR or NDMO (Saudi National Data Management Authority Regulations) is a plus   
• Prior Client facing skills
